Meet Alex

Collector. Auctioneer. Valuation Expert.

So why do I do what I do and why do I love it so much?

In the late 70’s, home sick from school, my mother brought me a ‘Marvel Team-Up’ comic, featuring ‘Spiderman vs Captain Britain', from that moment onward, I was hooked…

Toys, books, comics, movie posters, tv and film related merchandise, music memorabilia, trading cards, action figures,  theatre, the list goes on!

I've spent my life at the cinema, concerts, comic stores, markets and conventions, hunting items that gave me the same feeling as that first comic book. Over the years, the items I collected and the search for new treasures became something more, with trips around the world to find them, slowly it stopped being a hobby and became my career.

My time as a film extra (Gladiator, Sleepy Hollow, Harry Potter, etc...) proved to build an exciting and unexpected network of contacts I hadn't realised I had, before I became a dealer of collectibles & memorabilia. Having sold various film props, call sheets and autographs this became the start of being associated with sale of Film, TV and Music paraphernalia, with people approaching me to buy and sell items.

Eventually I found my way into the Auction world, there the thrill of bidding, selling (and collecting) lead to my becoming an auctioneer of antiques, general and collectibles.  My love of old British comedy would be used often in my auctioneering style and keeps the customers coming back for more!

Now I'm running 20th Century Lots, and hosting Specialist Auctions alongside Mark Hill Auctions in Royal Tonbridge Wells, launched in 2024, exciting times lie ahead...

I love to entertain, to see people happy and most importantly, see my customers enjoy the buying experience with me at auction. Customers leaving content and with a smile on their face has always been the most important part of this for me.

All that's left to say is, I hope to speak with you soon!

Highlights of my work so far...
